Focusing on climate change
Turkey, Syria, Greece, Morocco, Libya were the most affected countries in the region, natural disasters, earthquakes, floods and other factors impact most of the driving sectors of the economy and have disastrous consequences for the regional economy.
The impact of climate change in the Mediterranean region causes loss between 5 and 15% of its GDP per year, the cost of not acting is very high, this should force the region to dedicate more to green financing. The Climate Change Resilience Index predicts that an increase in global temperatures can set back the world economy by almost 8 trillion Euros by 2050 due to natural disasters caused by it.
Our ability to confront climate change in the Mediterranean region and globally depends on people, companies and countries making an unconditional commitment to green recovery in all sectors.
Investment has significantly evolved with the rise of technology offering limitless opportunities, which introduces new know-how to the entire process.
By working together, sharing knowledge, and using combined experience, can achieve common goals, improve competitiveness, and advance companies by pursuing future strategies that pave the way for sustainable growth. Partnerships to achieve goals and progress are the right way.
To coordinate efforts, private sector leaders from across the Mediterranean region must come together and shape a shared vision and design feasible and effective solutions to the challenges.
