Since its debut in 2006, MedaWeek Barcelona has been jointly organized by the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, with the collaboration of prominent Euro-Mediterranean organizations.
Over the last sixteen editions, more than 45.000 businesspeople have participated in MedaWeek Barcelona.

An entrepreneurial platform
During three days, MedaWeek Barcelona 2023 will host numerous key thematic and sectorial fora. In past editions, this important event counted with more than 35 thematic fora, 650 working sessions, 2.010 prominent speakers, welcomed over 45.000 attendees from all over the world and obtained coverage from more than 80 media outlets. These included entrepreneurs and representatives of the private sector, business support organisations, such as Chambers of Commerce and promotion agencies, political authorities, and international coverage from a number of local and foreign media agencies. Altogether, the MedaWeek Barcelona saw the participation of over 50 countries across the globe and this year´s edition will be no exception.
The 17th edition of MedaWeek Barcelona, as in its previous years, will bring many trending topics to the table and serve as the flagship Mediterranean entrepreneurial-economic platform for the entire world. This year’s edition aims to cover four main objectives as a central axis:

- Create a common and innovative space that will serve as basic axis for the relationships’ development between both shores of the Mediterranean.
- Promote the integration of the region to boost in investments, exports, the creation of jobs and new companies, transformation and sustainability, having women and youth as priority actors.
- Construct a common future between the two shores, based on new technologies, innovation, digital transformation, green and blue economies, renewable energy, health, tourism and sustainable food, among others.
In 2022, MedaWeek Barcelona started with the Economic Outlook in the Mediterranean Region, highlighting the importance of driving Mediterranean economies towards sustainability, innovation, development and security. MedaWeek Barcelona then tackled key points for the present and future of the region, with the Mediterranean Digital Economy Summit and the Mediterranean Young Economy Summit. And, what is more, last year the event introduced the Mediterranean Innovation Hub, to present financing opportunities, groundbreaking entrepreneurs and digital initiatives shaping the Mediterranean and global economies.
