Cinema & Audiovisual: Ambitions and Opportunities in the region

Cooperation in the audiovisual co-production

The history of human exchange across the shores of the Mediterranean Sea stands out as a compelling testament to the significance of the ongoing process of Mediterranean association and integration. It underscores the imperative for us to unite our efforts in film production. The realization of genuine regional cooperation hinges on the actualization of cultural projects through co-productions. In the pursuit of enhancing our identity and elevating our film industry to a regional and global platform, fostering greater solidarity and a closer alliance within the Mediterranean region is paramount

The upcoming session, “Cinema and Audiovisual Co-production: Ambitions and Opportunities” along with “Financing of Culture: Challenges, Modalities, and Perspectives,” will serve as a platform for accomplished professionals in the Mediterranean cultural sector to deliberate on crucial matters shaping the future of the creative industry. The agenda will include discussions on:

  • Facilitating co-production agreements to streamline collaboration between the Film and Audiovisual Centers of the region.
  • Showcasing local and regional talent and the picturesque landscapes of the Mediterranean, emphasizing their allure for international productions.
  • Enriching skills in the sector through the development of training programs and professional exchanges.
  • Streamlining co-production procedures and recognizing the value of regional culture and identity.
  • Promoting the mobility of cultural agents and fostering international co-production discussions, adapting to the evolving landscape shaped by digital technologies and platforms.
  • Addressing diverse methods and approaches to effectively finance cultural industries.
  • Acknowledging cultural entrepreneurs on par with their counterparts in other sectors.
  • Strengthening dialogue with financial institutions and institutional partners to create tools and analyses tailored to the needs and realities of the cultural sector, considering its profitability and impact on economic and social development.
